Happy New Year Folks!

First off, thank you all for making the first event such a huge success.Over 100 people came out on November 26th, and the party didn't stop till the wee hours.

The first #GenYOTT of 2010 is here!

By now, you've probably made your New Year's Resolutions. So let's get together and get it going! 2010's gonna be a great year, and a lot of us are going to do some great things in this city! Come out, have some fun, meet some GREAT people, and let's continue to make this Our Time!

This is a great chance for you to meet like-minded, driven people. If you're planning something interesting in 2010, this is a great opportunity for you to meet someone who can facilitate your initiative. I almost guarantee that you'll meet someone or hear something that will kickstart your initiative.

The Special Guest

We are extremely pleased to tell you that Susan Murphy, well known in Ottawa's Twitter community as @SuzeMuse, will deliver a small presentation at #GenYOTT! Susan is first-hand involved in multiple social media for social change campaigns, and has been extremely active in the community. She's great to talk to, and while she *technically* isn't a Gen-Y'er herself, we could all learn alot from her.

This month, GenYOTT will be supporting a local charity created by one of our own, Kyle Braatz (@Braatzy).

Typically Canadian (http://typicallycanadian.ca)

In the summer of 2008, five young men set off on a journey across Canada, to inspire others, not with the physical feat of riding their bikes, but by relaying the inspirational stories of Canadians who have battled this merciless disease and honouring all Typical Canadians who have gone above and beyond in the fight against cancer.  TCG will honour Typical Canadians, everyday people, who may not always have national or even local prominence but who make a difference in the lives of people that matter most to them.

With help from our corporate supporters, Canadian Fire Departments, volunteers and Typical Canadians, TCG raised over $101,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society and to date has raised over $104,000

“If they say one person can make a difference, imagine what a nation can do…” - Typically Canadian
